A fun and educational day for the entire family

East Los Angeles College (ELAC), the new home of the Los Angeles Festival, offers so many of the features we’ve been looking for in a venue that we knew from the first walk-through we had found the perfect home. Using ELAC’s new Performing & Fine Arts Complex will let us place both the outdoorFestival aspect of our event as well as the indoor Literary Program portion in close proximity allowing attendees to realize the entire festival experience.

The current lineup of authors presenting at the Los Angeles Latino Book & Family Festival include:

Victor Villaseñor: always a crowd pleaser, Victor will be presenting in the Recital Hall at 1:00 pm. Make your plans to get a seat early as this room will fill up fast.

Luis J. Rodriguez: This month Mayor Eric Garcetti has selected Luis J. Rodriguez as the new Poet Laureate of Los Angeles. Luis will take part in two exceptional  presentations at the L. A. Festival. At Noon, in the Recital Hall, he will present  Tia Chucha PressA Celebration of 25 Years of Publishing. 25 years! That’s quite an achievement in this world, especially in publishing. Then at 4:00pm, also in the Recital Hall, come back for a very special presentation of the documentary, Rushing Waters, Rising Dreams: How the Arts are Transforming a Community about how the arts are renewing the City of Pacoima as well as San Fernando and Sylmar.
