Foster Care to Families
Every child deserves parents they can rely on for a safe and healthy home, but not every parent can meet that need. Bienvenidos provides foster care services to children and siblings who cannot remain at home with their birth parents. Managing a multi-county network of foster homes, we specialize in caring for young children and sibling groups.
“We are a prime resource to LA County DCFS – interviews with their placement staff will tell you we are the first call on their list when looking for placements due to our responsiveness, the quality of our foster parents, and our staff.” Stephanie Ivler, Bienvenidos Foster Care Services Director
Los Angeles County has the highest number of children in foster care of any county in America (one in 125 of our children in Los Angeles Country are in out-of-home placement).
Children are referred to Bienvenidos on a 24/7 basis. Most often, they come with just the clothes on their backs, frightened and scared. Our Foster Care Social Workers then identify the needs of the particular child, including language and cultural needs, particular triggers or traumas, mental health diagnoses, and so forth to match them with the most appropriate foster family.
Our foster and adoptive parents are given the support, resources, and tools they need to help these fragile children to trust, love, and feel confident about their place in the world. We select, train, certify and support our loyal foster parents, so they can in turn provide a safe, stable, supportive and loving environment to the children placed in their homes.
