Evidence-Based Practices

Bienvenidos Mental Health Services offers a variety of evidence-based practices to its clients, including the following:

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)

CPP is designed to restore the Child-Parent relationship and the child’s mental health and development progression caused by trauma, maltreatment and/or exposure to domestic violence.

Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP)

The MAP system treats youth in the community experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, or disruptive behaviors while providing treatment modalities using traditional clinical interventions with evidence-based research.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT)

TFCBT treatment model focuses on reducing symptoms of psychological trauma resulting from numerous traumatic experiences.

Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)

TBS is an intensive, short-term program designed to help children remain in their home and avoid being placed in a higher level of care, such as a residential treatment facility, or to help children with the transition from a facility to a home.

In the Wraparound Program, Bienvenidos staff works as a team with youth with emotional or behavioral disturbances, members of his/her family, and members of their community support system, to identify strengths, needs, and goals in order to assist the youth to build constructive relationships and support networks. Plans center on families and build on each child’s and family’s unique strengths and needs.

Mental Health Integration Program (MHIP)

MHIP is the treatment modality provided to our Healthy Way Los Angeles clients, to treat mild mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or trauma due to life stressors.

MAT Assessment

When a child is detained by the Department of Children and Family Services he/she is eligible to receive a MAT assessment. The MAT assessment was designed to make sure that all child/family needs are assessed when a youth enters foster care.
