For 28 years Bienvenidos has played a major role in the social services sector in Southern California. Bienvenidos continues to serve more than 12,000 parents, children, and families annually across all our divisions, programs, and events. Our strength is our comprehensive and integrated approach, which ensures stressed families can get the help they need in one place, from one team that works together. This allows us to fulfill our mission by strengthening each family’s resilience in the face of challenges, and resources to meet their own needs.
Most of our families are referred from the County of Los Angeles Departments of Children and Family Services and Mental Health, local school districts, and other community agencies who lack either the expertise or capacity to address the multiple needs of families in crisis.
Our staff consists of over 150 professionals and support staff who deliver programs and services that are community-oriented, culturally responsive, and built on promising practices and evidence-based approaches in their respective fields. We strive to recruit qualified employees who mirror our participating families; over 75% of our direct service staff is bilingual in English and Spanish, and most are bicultural as well. By building relationships with families and their children, we let clients know someone cares and is invested in their well-being and their future. We then empower families with information and resources and provide a place for them to heal. It is through this environment of trust that our clients feel safe to return to Bienvenidos for help with other issues. In so doing, we are not only able to prepare individuals and families for long-term success, but we are also impacting the greater community.
