LOS ANGELES, December 2, 2019 – Hillsides, a Southern California foster care and mental health charity, has named Stacey Hoppe, a Warner Bros. executive and Hillsides board member, as Chair of its Annual Gala for 2020. Hoppe, who has served on the agency’s board since 2016, also announced the selection of The Roaring 2020s as the evening’s theme.

LOS ANGELES, CA, November 12, 2019 -- The Hillsides Guild, a support group of the foster care and mental health charity Hillsides, will host its annual Holiday Celebration at the Parkway Grill in Pasadena on Tuesday, December 3. This event, which features caroling by the renowned Citrus Singers from Citrus College in Glendora, kicks off the holidays and raises funds for children in foster care.

(PASADENA, CA, November 6, 2019) The Tournament of Roses 2020 Royal Court visited Hillsides on Tuesday for an evening of pizza, crafts, conversation and laughter. It was a visit that made a special impact on all in attendance and the Royal Court walked away with their own Hillsides keepsake.

LOS ANGELES, August 26, 2019 – Ten youth had only 10 weeks to learn the rudiments of cooking, customer service, and kitchen etiquette while participating in Hillsides’ Youth Moving On (YMO) summer Culinary Apprenticeship Program.  However, on Sunday night, August 25, with the help of four local professional chefs, the youth prepared and served a flawless five-course “Summer in the Garden” dinner for 65 Hillsides guests.

LOS ANGELES, August 22, 2019 – Hillsides Education Center (HEC), a K-12 nationally accredited therapeutic non-public residential and day school, has begun the new school year with an emphasis on Trauma-Informed Care (TIC).  TIC recognizes the widespread impact of trauma, integrates knowledge of trauma into treatment, and promotes the healing of families, children, and communities. All HEC staff have been trained in TIC, and Hillsides has been designated a Trauma-Informed Care Agency by the National Council for Behavioral Health.
