LOS ANGELES, June 4, 2019 – Hillsides’ young professional group, H100, celebrated its 10th annual Farm to Table dinner in a stunning outside setting in a private Pasadena estate on June 2. Some 80 guests enjoyed locally sourced, farm-fresh food and cocktails while raising more than $7,000 for the children who live at Hillsides’ residential program.

LOS ANGELES, May 28, 2019 – St. Edmund’s Nursery School in San Marino has donated 270 backpacks filled with school supplies to Hillsides, a Southern California foster care and mental health charity. Three nursery school mothers, Jenny Kaw, Jamie Zapata, and Judy Kim, who is also a Hillsides board member, set up a wishing tree at the nursery school where parents, staff, and St. Edmund’s parishioners could donate toward backpacks, raising $6,000. The three bought the backpacks and supplies, and then the nursery school students assembled them.

LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2019 -- Hillsides, a foster care and mental health charity, has launched a Summer “Bucket List” drive for the children who live at the charity’s residential treatment program. The drive, which runs through July 1, 2019, raises funds for the children to experience summertime activities and create happy memories.

LOS ANGELES, May 7, 2019 -- Hillsides, a foster care and mental health charity, has created a Wellness Guide of tips and resources for managers and supervisors, the TIC Wellness Guide, available for immediate sale as a donation. The guide incorporates practices and techniques inspired by Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), a relatively new concept in mental health that acknowledges the widespread impact of trauma in the lives of most people.

LOS ANGELES, May 2, 2018 – The LA5 Rotary Club of Los Angeles has awarded Hillsides a grant of $10,690 for its Youth Moving On workforce development program. The funds will be used for workforce training and internships for youth formerly in foster care or probation.
